Flag Rush Memorial Holiday

Hi Boys,

What day would the Rush fall on this year ? It was always on the penultimate Thursday during my years at Camp.
We should designate the appropriate day each year and proclaim it an official Camp observance and celebrate it in some typically camp-like fashion. I'm open to all suggestions.

i think the rush would be falling on either the 16th or the 23rd depending on what week camp would have started. We need some expert advise on this, Doctor Yoffe, are you out there somewhere?
Is anyone in the Philly area interested in getting drinks that night?

Except aren't camps ending earlier these days because of the earlier start of colleges??? Would we have started camp a week earlier this Summer to compensate - which would bring it to this Thursday...of course not being exactly sure when it would be we could start the celebrating on Thursday and continue it for the week...

I vote for that!!! <IMG SRC="smile.gif" BORDER=0 ALT=":)">

In the later years, 70s, 80s, 90s, the Rush was held on the final Tuesday of the year. Sing Sunday, Swim Meet Monday, Rush Tuesday, regular day Wednesday, Pick Days Thursday, Friday, and Saturday Morning. Go home Sunday. I'm pretty sure that is how it went, making August 14th the day of the Rush for 2001.

Whichever day it fell on I would have brought over the 50 twice and been awarded the 2nd 25 as payback for torturing the counselors and never making an honor roll.

Thursday 23rd August, Sid?
Is that an official invitation?
Somewhere near your place on Thursday evening sounds good to me.
See you there,
Tony

Tony,

If you're willing to cross the big pond to celebrate the 'woulda been' date of the Rush, how could I refuse to make the invite official.

I'm sure that we can fine a reputable "Main Line" establishment that would accept our business.

Regards,

Sid

I am on my way!!!!!!
The flag that I bring may have lots of diagonal stripes on, but it will still be red, white and blue.
Looking forward to seeing you guys.
I will be with my wife and daughter, 14 (going on 27) years and they are looking forward to meeting some of my old buddies.
Nothing too grand, maybe something a little like Charlie's, you remember 50cents a jug.
I am sure that 'Mouse' remembers Charlies from 1970!!
I hope everyone sees this and if they do we will have a great time.
Make sure that Greenfield hears about this, I am sure that 'Moishe' will pass it on.
Regards

I have tried to e-mail all of the guys on the Alpha list who would have been there in 1970, unfortunately some have changed their e-mail address and are unobtainable.
I hope that I have got through to some of them.
Let's go for it.
Best regards

Is it 'Spooky' that I send a message on the 10th and then a second on the 13th and both are timed at 3.44pm!!!!!!!
Especially considering the 5 hour time difference!

I like Uncle Moishe's Park suggestion. Who knows what fun might break out.
Does anyone still have a flag.
I'm in. With or without the flag.

The venue

Hi guys
I would never have believed the response that I have created, it just shows the power of the Internet.
Sid has suggested a place on Lancaster Ave. in Ardmore called "Pizza & Pasta Kitchen".
That sounds good to me.
I am leaving the UK in around 36 hours time, so that is where I will be.
I apologise to Sid for dumping this on him, but if you e-mail him to confirm then I am sure that he will be able to convey the numbers to the Pizza & Pasta Kitchen place.
I am really looking forward to re-meeting some of you guys.
Best wishes
Tony Gillott
PS
I am now leaving to go to my mother's because I am sure that she still has some pics from 1970!!!

Whoa there boys ! I gave a wrong name to the venue. The correct name is "Primavera Pizza Kitchen". If you click on the link below or copy / paste it to the address bar on your browser, you'll find a nice Yahoo map.
See you there at 20:00 hours EST.

Hi guys
This is my final message from the UK, in less than 24hours I will have landed at Logan, Boston.
Less than a week later I will be in Ardmore, PA at the Primavera for the re-union.
I am really looking forward to seeing some of you guys.
Regards
Tony Gillott
PS
I just thought that you guys would be really interested that if I was driving a Toyota Prius I would save $3.05 if I started from Newark International Airport.
