New/Old Message Boards

Post by Uncle Neil »

Gary,
Any chance of simplifying how to use this message board? It is difficult to find messages on this one. The old one was much simpler and therefore used regularly...this one is like "a bawkin' jackhammer hitting me on the head!"

Hi Neil,

Actually this one is a little easier if you do a little work first...there is an option on the very first screen called SET PREFERENCES . If you go to that screen there are some settings you can make that will stay in effect each time you log back to the message board....they are:
List messages: Posted within the last
Hour(s)Day(s)Week(s)Month(s) - which you can select or

Posted since your last visit began which will list just the newest messages....

I suggest that you select LIST MESSAGES POSTED WITHIN THE LAST ?? MONTHS and enter 24 or 36 that way you will see all messages and their responses for 2-3 years...and those that are NEW will be flagged new!!!

As for the other setting on that page

Listing style: you can play with that one but I generally select REVERSE THREADED LISTING so that they are grouped together by topic from newest to oldest...

Give that a try and see if you find that a little easier...if you do than maybe I will send out a broadcast e-mail with instructions on how to view the message board...remember to check the e-mail notification box as well that way you will get an e-mail anytime there is a response to your message...a very nice feature!!!

Hope all is well...I am actually trying to work out a way to get up to NH in July...want to get a first hand look at the carnage that has taken place on the grounds.

Let me know if you need any more help on the board.

Gary

A word to the wise: the Town of Alton police don't take trespassing lightly. I suggest anyone who wants to see Camp rents a boat/snowmobile and does it from the lake only.

Dear Anonymous,

Let me thank you for galvanizing me into sending a greeting, this Erev Shavuouth, to the entire Alton [extended] family.

Your advice is good, and can prevent problems for us who can't help but feel, for obvious reasons, that our interest in that property "runs with the land". Unfortunately, those grounds [somewhat groundless] are controlled now by less ethereal individuals.

But let me request two things. First, be a little gentler. Our pain remains. Second, never fear to identify yourself. Otherwise, you give the impression that you believe yourself to be wrong.

Again, I thank you and a G'tun Yom Tov, Chag Someach.

Unless the streets are private I believe you can still drive on them?
