Vince Scully, God's gift to baseball announcing, fashioned some exquisite wording concerning the NL Dodgers' win over the vaunted AL's Oakland in 1988. Wordsmith Scully said: In a year of the improbable, the impossible has happened.

That's exactly what took place in 2004's Series.
The impossible happened!

By the way, over 5 games, the Dodgers gave up only 11 runs and made but 3 errors (cf the Red Sox gave up that many runs in their first 2 games, and if that weren't enough, booted the ball 8 times). The Sox may have won but there was no style in doing so. Nevertheless, even if dumb luck, a win is a win. We can't ignore that.
