Mark Brecker

Mark Brecker is without equal as a chronicler of our beloved Camp Alton times. He is Camp's ne plus ultra. He was there, as Edward R Murrow, would say. He's a Living Treasure on Camp for all his years being there through all the changes that took place. He was there. He knew 'em all or shall we say more than anyone else alive.

And then to have a mind that can bring total recall so clearly back to center stage, well, he's
simply remarkable and unique to "our" Camp!!

Now,... no one leaves Camp without finding out who
took that watermelon! (with apoligies to Captain Quegg as played by Humphrey Bogart in the Caine
Mutiny).

Caine Mutiny

FYI:
The Caine Mutiny Court Martial was produced at Alton in the mid-50's. Can't recall whether it was the senior play or the counselors' play, but probably the former. Can't recall who played Queeg, but Izzy Drucker played Barney Greenwald (the smart-ass Jew-lawyer who won the acquittal for Maryk.) Of course, this preceded the watermelon caper, but Greenwald was to serve as the prototype for Richie Egbert.
