Collecting seaweed

Came across an amusing site the other day and did you know that in the State of New Hampshire,
"It is illegal to pick seaweed up off of the beach!"
Does that include 'Lakeweed'?
Still you could always "Whistle underwater in New Hampshire", unlike next door in Vermont where it is illegal!
