If you were thinking of going up to camp and driving on the lake...check out the picture at this site...

And if you are driving on a lake in Vermont, you should be aware that the frozen surface is considered a "public highway" for purposes of our DUI law, (for example). See the article atached to this link. <A HREF="

Well - thanks to our alum on the lake...we have some photos of the frozen tundra...
The next 3 messages will have pictures attached...
Thanks to Bruce Novak for his courageous trek on Lake Winnipesaukee...his entry to the lake was from Robert's Cove and he drove up toward the point...
In his email to me he wrote the following:
These are pictures of Sunday, 2/01/04, when Nanette, my older son Chad & I went up to Robert's Cove for an afternoon drive. It just happened to be out on the Lake. We drove onto the ice at the "Basin" and headed out towards the Point. We stopped to take a few photos, and let our dog run around. Where we were, the ice was at least several feet thick, as we saw several ice fisherman and spoke with them. We were almost in front of the area in front of David Rosenthal's house when we took these particular pictures. Hope all is well.
