Re: Think Before You Drive
And if you are driving on a lake in Vermont, you should be aware that the frozen surface is considered a "public highway" for purposes of our DUI law, (for example). See the article atached to this link. http://www.burlingtonfreepress.com/bfpn ... 00h.htm

Well - thanks to our alum on the lake...we have some photos of the frozen tundra...
The next 3 messages will have pictures attached...
Thanks to Bruce Novak for his courageous trek on Lake Winnipesaukee...his entry to the lake was from Robert's Cove and he drove up toward the point...
In his email to me he wrote the following:
These are pictures of Sunday, 2/01/04, when Nanette, my older son Chad & I went up to Robert's Cove for an afternoon drive. It just happened to be out on the Lake. We drove onto the ice at the "Basin" and headed out towards the Point. We stopped to take a few photos, and let our dog run around. Where we were, the ice was at least several feet thick, as we saw several ice fisherman and spoke with them. We were almost in front of the area in front of David Rosenthal's house when we took these particular pictures. Hope all is well.
Bruce

Re: FEW ADORE
seeing glimpses of and around our sacred grounds as do I.
Guys and gals, Bruce and Nanette, please, NEVER AGAIN! Your lives are too important to risk for relatively momentary pleasures [for you all and the rest of us].

Putting the dock up
Having seen all the pics with the ice and stuff, let me say that when I arrived at Camp Alton in 1970 it was only 3 degrees warmer than what you see in the pics.
It was that taskmaster 'Markoff' who forced all of us slave labour to put the dock up.
It was the NH equivalent of 'Bridge over the River Quai'
It was only possible with the encouragement of our Union Leader 'Reb Moishe', otherwise we may have disappeared in watery end.
Ho, Ho, Ho Chi Minn, PLF are bound to win!
(Remember that Moishe?)
Best wishes to all
