VIRUS ALERT

This message has nothing to do with camp but I want to advise everyone that there is a new virus going around in emails diguised as a message from Microsoft...

Win32/Swen.A
    W32/Gibe-F

Win32/Swen.A is a worm spreading as a file of an e-mail attachment. It works in Windows 95 or newer versions of Windows operating system. It is spreading via local networks, in the environment of P2P of KaZaA network and via IRC. The worm is not compressed and its length is 106496 bytes. All texts in the worm are freely visible.

The worm arrives as a file in attachment of the message having subject, sender and text combined from strings contained in its body. The message may look as an e-mail returning undelivered or as a message looking like an update of Microsoft Internet Explorer, Microsoft Outlook or Microsoft Outlook Express. The fake message with the update looks very convincingly: (see attached image)

For additional information see the link below...

This is a site for a relatively new Anti-virus program that I use. It has been winning MANY awards for it ability to nail viruses (especailly worm viruses) before they are acutally caught by other programs. You can check their entire website at www.nod32.com It a a GREAT program that uses very little computer overhead for those that may be tight for memory and it doesn't load multiple programs at startup like NORTON.

You can download a trial version from their site to try it out.

Be careful this worm virus is very new so make sure your AV files are updated!!!

    Gary
