It is with deep sadness that I pass on the following information...(this posting is from the Wolfeboro website from someone responding to what had been believed to be a rumor):

<STRONG><CENTER><FONT COLOR="ff0000"> <IMG SRC="http://www.campalton.com/smilies/frown.gif" BORDER=0 ALT=":("> BAILEYS CLOSING <IMG SRC="http://www.campalton.com/smilies/frown.gif" BORDER=0 ALT=":("></STRONG></FONT></CENTER>
I have just found out that Bailey's was sold and would like to say Good-By to all those that served my breakfast every morning during the summer ... to the new owners I hope that you have the success you deserve. I realize the menu is changing and no more ice cream .. however .. the Bubble will still be downtown for those ice cream lovers. I truly will miss my grilled "blueberry muffins" ... you have all been dears to me through years and wish you all the luck.

Thanks and good luck to the new owners !!

Also another posting in response to the above:

<STRONG><CENTER><FONT COLOR="ff0000">BAILEYS CLOSING </STRONG></FONT></CENTER>
It has been sold ... so it is not a rumor anymore .. the new owners are getting ready to remodel and have started on the new menu. I am sure that the new owner/chef will find it hard that there is some out there that cannot believe the Skelly's sold (know it has caused some hard family feelings) ... but I am sure they know it is for the best. Ice Cream can still be found at the Bubble .... also the sale Love's Quay is about to be finalized to a couple from MA. So alot is changing in the restaurant business in Wolfeboro. Will truly miss Donna Love's desserts.

the Wolfeboro Cafe began Poppa Doc's [or was it Father John's?].

With "Thumper" [Shapiro?] in effect made verboten, the slide became irreversible.
