man....I feel so old!

looking at these message threads talking about l973, and that was l5 years AFTER my last summer at camp! I did manage to walk through the place in the summer of l993 after it had closed. and then drove through just a few months ago to see nothing left but the old tennis court and a bunch of multimillion dollar yuppie-barns where the bunks and dining hall used to be. at least they re-named the road leading down there in honor of Frank Hopewell, from whose estate the camp was built. questions: what caused the camp to close finally? lack of campers, or did the owners just get tired of it.... and who's still around from my era? I remember Phin Tobe, Don Ulin, Eddie Goldman, and Barry Bortnick. well anyway, it's great that this web site is here, and I would look forward to any future reunions...if anyone else from my era is still alive!!

Thanks for mentioning me me as one of the people you still remember.
I'm still around--but in California.
Fun to be in touch with someone from Alton.
