JEFF - A Final Perfect Mitzvah

Post by Uncle Moish »

I always thought it strange when mourners at cemetaries threw soil onto the coffin of a dear one; it actually seemed contradictory. But recently a reason [unfortunately] came to be shared with me.

It is said that one good deed begets another. This can be problematic as an individual's motivation may lead him/her to ask, "Am I doing this for my friend "X" so he may reciprocate?". Quite clearly there can be no expectation that the roles will be reversed and the recipient will some day become engaged on behalf of the performer with the mitzvah of proper burial of the deceased.

An hour or so after Sunday's 2:30 ceremony at the Levine Chapel Jeffrey will be laid to rest at the family plot at Sharon Memorial Park [Section 4]. Anyone having a travel problem on the way to Brookline [especially if travelling a distance easterly] may wish to consult a map for directions to Sharon.

Ha Makom y'nachem etchem b'toch sh'or ovalay TZion v'Yirushalayim.
