1982 Green Team Comic (a little help)

Post by Mitch Ross »

While we're on the subject of old comic songs, perhaps some of you may remember '82's Green team entry which catapulted Paul A. Levitan and my brother Barry into the annals (and if you've ever been catapulted....) for their writing and song leadership respectively. Perhaps someone can fill in the rest, the mists of time prevent me from doing so.

(to the tune of This Old Man)

Camp this year
Old Staff's here
Judges won't you lend a ear
We will try our best to rank on all of you
Brecker, you're invited too

Prof's a stooge
Danny's huge
Miller's hair will look like Lou's
Brecker won't stay home
Bond sings the same old tune:
"Don't play in the shower room"

Lucky humps
Leon beefs
Doctor pumps and
Rico queefs
To the dog track counselors go to win themselves a load
But it's been a ruff, ruff road.

My favorite was either the 1980 or 1981 Green Team Comic to the theme from the Beverly Hillbillies:

Now listen to a story 'bout a fine summer camp
Food ain't fit for eatin' and the beds are often damp
Each morning there's inspection; of that duty I'm not fond...
And cleaning up that duty is a man named Bond..
Paul, that is, killing germs and scrubbing bowls.

Now listen to a story 'bout a nurse named Jean
We'd like to get into it but we've got to keep it clean
And just in case you're wondering just exactly what we mean
At least we're not mentioning a certain beach scene...
Skinny, dipping that is, shining stars and moons.

I'll try and remember the other three verses. They're stuck somewhere in the dark recesses...maybe some Bailey's blueberry muffins would help bring them back!

I have had these lyrics stuck in my head for years now and I cant remember which year they were from. I know its a Sing Comic but I am not sure whether its green or gray:

The waterfront, is not well run
but now we have a duck who makes it lots of fun
If Rich should go
Then we all know
The fun will only be for Laura and Rico

At Alton camp
We come each year
and poke some fun
at friends so dear

Who can help me out with my conundrum?

Paule and I wrote this! Jimmy "Millah" lead it. Here's the rest:

Now there's a part of camp which has been going on for years
The Ancient One, the baseball coach, in winter he serves beers.
He coaches with an iron hand,
His team it never slumps,
For rest and relaxation, the Doctor always pumps
-- Iron, that is; no pain,... no gain

There's characters galore at camp and here are just a few:
Professor, Ari, Jeffery's car, and looney Brecker too
Professor looks like he is twelve, and Ari's losing mits
And Brecker, just like Jeffery's car has flipped into the pits
-- Schvitz, that is; always there,... not invited.

Dear Judges - hope you liked our song we've done our very best,
To bring you camp that "down home" way and do it all in jest.
We'd like to start another verse
So J. Floyd can say "WWWWhoah,"
But, judges please excuse us, for now we have to go!
