Comic song lyrics

Post by Bob Fine »

I cannot resist adding my share:
I forget if they were Gray or Green , but, to the Association song Windy, from the mid-60s

Who's peeking out from under Chief's stairway
calling out names and blowing hot air?
Who is Camp Alton's favorite head counselor? Everone knows it's Jeff Green

and to a more obscure song, Sweet Pea, which may have been on the B side of Harold Goodman's immortal Cannibal Rouser or perhaps the A side of Steve Field's Blue on Blue

Went to a dance the other night

Saw a girl who was out of sight

Asked if I could dance with her

Turns out she was Dickie Sauber

re. Windy:
that was a Green song. I don't remember the year, but I do remember they won the Sing thanks to that song, very cute and funny. Sometime in the late 60's. DBS

Someone, somewhere must have the lyrics!
The guys who wrote or should I say re-wrote the lyrics would still have them, or be able to remember them, Yes?
Who wrote them?
Just a limey over here asking the question.
Kind regards from this side of the pond.

re: Windy

Was that the one that included the line -

"And Peter's got a ferny head" ?

Hi Bob. I believe those were gray team lyrics. By the way, I can't believe I came to live in Richmond, Virginia and 20 years after leaving camp found your sister Judy and got to be good friends with her.
