I think it's great that Sam, always an innovator, has started his own Thanksgiving weekend football event, enabling out of shape Jews to get together and toss the pig skin around in the NYC area.

Sam's Brooklyn Bowl and the well-established Newton Bowl have a few striking similarities between the USFL and the NFL:

Both the Newton Bowl & NFL existed for years before the Brooklyn Bowl & USFL.

The Brooklyn Bowl's most notable member is Sam Miller. The USFL's most notable member was Doug Flutie. Both members are fairly small in stature but big in heart. (I can't speak intelligently to the double entendre there.)

I could continue and compare Josh Grossman to the founders of the NFL, for Josh's mother did buy enough pizza at Newton Bowl I to feed us through Newton Bowl IV, but Josh is skipping Newton Bowl XI this year to choose the proper color doilies for his wedding, so I would be remiss to continue this comparison in light of this horrifying piece of information.

Hope to see many of you at the Newton Bowl.

Will

Actually, Will the Thrill, the better analogy for Brooklyn is the XFL. The Cheltenham Bowl would be the USFL. We may have inferior players, but we will have superior shtick. We'll have fewer rules and of course no limits to touchdown celebrations. We'll have a scantily-clad cheerleaderer (If I can get Erin really drunk). We'll have goyim, and Irish goyim no less, a la Vince McMahon. Finally, we'll have Brecker.
