Rob's competition includes veteran bluesmen Buddy Guy and Eddie "The Chief" Clearwater, as well as legendary soul singer Tyrone Davis. But none of the other nominated performers started their career on the Rec Hall stage!
Spread the word and vote.

My vote is in. Remember if everyone who votes can get at least one non-camp person to vote as well, Rob gets double the votes. And if you teach school and give extra credit for kids who vote for Rob's album, he might even win!

Re: ROB STONE - CD NOMINATION. Please Vote!
I'm more than happy to help out a former Altonite...wait, were you a Green or a Grey? Nevermind, I'll do it anyway. But just for the record, is this album any good? Where can I get a copy or listen to some tracks. I wouldn't want to vote for anything that sounds like a Music Night version of Glen Frey's "The Heat is On"...do you know what I'm saying?
Disclaimer: To whomever it was that actually performed that memorable version of "The Heat is On", take no offense. It may not have been award winning, but it's almost 20 years leater and I still remember it.

Although I would never advocate using someone else's e-mail address, in Chicago, that's not only permissible, it's expected.

This is begining to sound like the typical political petition...get as many names as possible on the list and hope there isn't time to check them all out...my pets have email addresses too can they vote or is it humans only?
Remember vote early and often...I believe that phrase too originated in Chicago

Ken,
The Heat is On was performed by Matt Kopanz at music night back in '87 or so. Our cd (I think) can be heard on the website: www.thecnotes.com and probably on amazon or other online sights.
Thanks,
Rob

I SOOO remember what you're talking about with "The Heat Is On!" I remember some kid actually singing that song completely alone, no instruments. The part that I always remember is how he bobbed his head as he was counting out the last beats of the chorus! "The heat is * * * on!"

Hi there
We were a decade or two apart, but I voted too!
Do I get a free copy of the CD as the voter who voted from the most number of miles away, like Chicago to the UK, about 4,500 miles away.
The really sad thing is that a child of the 60's, grew up with the Beatles and Stones, has grown old and does not who the hell most of these folks are in the Chicago Music Awards!!
But as say in NH, 'Live Free or Die' and a Happy New Year to you all!
Best wishes
