Re: WarTalk(Re:Tattoo/Purim)
I think the big ethical discussion question is how many innocent (Iraqi, American, or otherwise) lives are worth sacrificing for the sake of THIS cause? Unfortunately, it is a question that cannot accurately be answered. But for me, I try to look at it from a mathematical perspective. Over the last ...

The Artist Formerly Known as Camp Alton
Remember in the 80s when Prince made that "Purple Rain" album, and everyone thought he's was uncontrollably over-the-top, but then his next three or four albums made that one look like an old Pat Boone record? Remember when Michael Jackson's "Thriller" came out and everyone was calling Michael Jacks...

WIll They Never Learn?
Last year the Steelers and their fans made Superbowl plans a week early too...and look what happened to them.
Good luck, and if you do make it down there, don't forget to check out Casa De Pico in Old Town. They have the best fish tacos in the entire city.

Zen Fishing
In my ten years in Arizona (89-99) I took up, fell in love with, and am now completely obsessed with flyfishing. Every year about this time, I get pretty excited about the thought of the spring thaw and the first good weekends of trout fishing in the rivers of the Southwest. Now, of course, I have m...

Ethical Discussion (please read on a Friday Night)
Without re-opening old wounds and re-visiting the personal abhorrance that some now feel toward Peter, I would like to get some input from all of you as to your thoughts of WHY Camps are closing...or why they have closed. I will start by giving my theory and please feel free to tell me if you think ...

Yes, that was the episode...my mistake.
Still a shame though, Squam Lake is beautiful too. Are there any good summer camps left on the New Hampshire lakes?

This Old Camp
Flipping through the channels last weekend in between football games, HGTV was airing "This Old House: Classics" and I immediately recognized the location from the pictures that are up on this website. It was indeed one of the new monstrosities that used to be our beloved Alton. The show took us thr...

One Particular Harbor
Over the last (nearly) 15 years I have missed Alton. And unlike many of the other participants in this thread, I hold no ill feelings toward Peter or anyone else for the closing of camp. There is a time when all things must pass, and that time came for our utopia on the lake. I became a Jimmy Buffet...

Re: Some More Bread For My Brother
Just for the record, being part of the Alton Brothers for all those years, and having the honor of closing music night every week was one of the highlights of my Alton experience. It is one that I will always remember, and from time to time I think about those nights and I can't help but smile. Than...

Re: Best of Alton Bros.
Sorry about that Neil, as I said before my feeble mind fails me every now and then. I did forget about the wailing harpist who graced the Rec Hall stage on numerous occasions. And not to blow smoke or anything, but if you haven't ever heard Uncle Neil play the harp, you haven't truly experienced Mus...

Okay, if you want specifics, here's what I can come up with...but there's a lot missing. Band Members Dan Rabinvitz Tommy G. Jake G. Ken Warshaw Joe DeSisto Little Shooey (I forgot his real name) Tom Kitt Jimmy Lewin Gus DeMayo (spelling???) Jon Kaufman Andy Kimball Songs BB Intro (Theme) She Caught...

Re: Best of Alton Bros.
As a 7 year member of the Alton Brothers Band, I have often thought (fantasized) about "getting the band back together." It would be a pretty easy project if we just got together to play a couple of tunes at the next Alton reuinion. However, my feeble mind has forgotten who most of the people are wh...

Re: Wrestling Night 2003
What about that figure-skating madman all the way from Seattle, Jo Jo Starbucks. He's used his Katarina Wit to confuse opponents, and he pummels them with such signature moves as the double latte, the low-fat scone, the triple toe loop, and the Pearl Jam. Okay, it's my first effort at Wrestling name...

Re: The Ol' Doc on Music Night
I can't believe you still have those tapes. If any of us ever decide to run for office, you could probably make a couple of bucks selling them to some two-bit "Before they Were Stars" tabloid show.
If you can get some of those tapes online, I'd love to hear them.
